Every once and a while you come across a track that brings memories rushing back, both musically and emotionally. Such is the case with Nashville’s The Riflery’s, “I Need You Here”. The track is produced by Aaron Sprinkle and written by Shannon McArthur with Zoe Sky Jordan. “I Need You Here” is an alternative rock track remindful of music from similar acts of years past including the likes of Matchbox Twenty, Switchfoot and 30 Seconds to Mars. At its core, “I Need You Here” is a track that’s relatable to practically everyone. It is about the sentiment of wanting to be closest to those nearest and dearest to your heart, but time and space may not allow that to be possible. For many speaking on the phone and “living through photos you sent me” don’t take away from the pain as “here is where you need to be”.
Formed in 2015 and based out of Nashville, TN, The Riflery is made up of Shannon McArthur, Sam Bowler, Jonny Riggs, Shanan Lau and Adam Walton. They are described as evoking sounds similar to that of Jimmy Eat World, Augustana, and The Script. The band’s name has come to develop quite a meaning over the years. As Shannon stated, ““Every man struggles with the big questions of life…
How did we end up here? For what purpose? You can choose to let questions like this weigh you down, or you can focus your thoughts
into something beautiful that resonates with those in the same struggle. This is what the Riflery is for me.” They recently released their debut EP, Falcon and just wrapped up their tour in support of the album.
