It has been over 4 years since Narrow Plains burst onto the scene with their first EP, Somewhere In Between. With a new year upon on us, Narrow Plains is set to release their self-titled Debut Album, Narrow Plains. We took the time to check out the album and see what the buzz is all about.
Described by the band as “having much more soulful vocal and instrumental parts, more experimental vocal harmonies and additional instruments while staying true to our singer/songwriter roots” from the their last album, they were quite on point. The album presents a great blend of tempo with high energy tracks like “Restless Mind” along with slower pacing singles like “Ghost”. The album presents a clean sound that is easy to follow. Narrow Plains kept to their roots of simplicity while showcasing a range of instrumentals. The lyrics are not overly complicated making the content easily relatable. It gives off a 90s vibe brining to mind, Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” with a mix of similar acts in their genre such as Mumford and Sons. Overall the album brings a simple approach with quality music which has remained part of Narrow Plain’s approach since their inception.
